The final judging and the crowning of Miss New Westminster take place at the Hyack Miss New Westminster Pageant to be held on Friday, March 26th, 2010 at the Massey Theatre at 7:00 pm.

Hyack’s theme this year is “Be your best in the City of New West” to celebrate the many champions in this city. With this in mind, this year the Miss New Westminster Ambassador Program is honouring the New Westminster Salmonbellies Lacrosse Association. The candidates presented their historical speeches at the President’s tea in January. The speeches have been printed into a booklet of the local sports history and the name known worldwide will be given to the audience at the event.

Melanie Vogel, Executive Director of the Hyack Festival Association is already very excited and says, “This is an amazing and very special night not only for the girls but also for their parents, our City, our organization, donors and sponsors, the judges and the committee which works so hard to mentor the girls. And it should be a special night for all New Westminster residents since we are crowning our Miss New Westminster. I am inviting everyone to join us to see the Finale, the Crowning of Miss New Westminster at the Massey Theatre.” And she continues: “On behalf of our organization and the Ambassador committee I am thanking all donors and sponsors to support this young adult development program.”

This year’s Ambassador Sponsors are New Westminster Salmonbellies Lacrosse Association, G&F Financial Group, RBC Royal Bank, ALLDATA, New Westminster Kiwanis Club, Royal City Rotary, Royal City Centre and New Westminster Police officers Association.
